55 different ways to do pushups – and build the strong, ripped, functionally FIT upper body of your dreams
If you’re at this page in your quest for rock solid abs, improved digestion, a solid upper body, or simply the desire to do more PUSHUPS (that hallowed exercise, eh?!) and in the process gain better health, digestion etc – well – congratulations.

If you don’t enjoy exercise, you’ll never be able to stick to it long term.
If you don’t have all the TOOLS you (think) you need (emphasis on “think”) – chances are you won’t be working out on a regular basis.
And if you’re not getting results – solid, tangible good ole RESULTS – chances are you ain’t gonna stick with your fitness routine anyway.
But wait a minute, I hear you say. Wait a minute, Rahul. We were talking pushups, weren’t we?
Yes, we were my friend. And we still are.
No, we aren’t, I hear you chime back. We’re talking exercise, and fitness …
… … Yeah, right. Right. We were. And we’re talking about the ONE exercise that truly is an “all in one” exercise for the entire body in general – NOT just the upper body.
Lots of people have this misconception about a) pushups being “too easy to have any impact” – and b) pushups being a chest exercise, and nothing more.
And c), of course, that losing weight – – specifically around the midsection is next to impossible on pushups alone.
Well, sorry to burst your bubble if you think that way, my friend (and chances are you do) – – but none of the above is true. Not an iota of truth in ANY of it, I should say.
First off, lets look at the easy part. If pushups were easy, would we see boxers and wrestlers doing them as the mainstay of their routines?
Would we be seeing the Marines – and military in general – doing them by the hundreds in their regular routine?
Would we hear of the Great Gama doing 3000 or so of these DAILY – as part of his exercise routine (Note – the “3000” number is probably inflated, but the fact remains that the Gama – unbeaten in over 5000 matches – DID do pushups – of various kinds – as one of the MAINSTAYS of his routine).

Would we see “Iron Mike Tyson” doing them by the 500’s per workout?
The legendary Bruce Lee did these by the hundreds as well, and could reportedly do 1500 at a stretch!
That’s with both hands, by the way. He reportedly did 400 one armed pushups at a stretch – 200 “two finger” pushups – – 100 “thumb pushups”!
Even if you don’t know the sort of shape Lee was in or have been living under a rock, try holding yourself up on just your fingertips, my friend – let alone two fingers – or the thumb – – let alone actually pushing up and down from that position!The “baddest” man on the planet, “Iron” Mike Tyson did 500 pushups PER WORKOUT – 6 days a WEEK!
And so forth. If pushups were an easy exercise with no benefit, then why would some of the toughest, baddest, fittest and STRONGEST men (and women) on the planet be doing ’em?
Second, as for being “just a chest” exercise, again, I hate to burst that bubble – but you’re WRONG, my friend. The pushup provides an EXCELLENT workout for the entire body – including the back and legs if you do ’em right.
You’ll find out why in the manual, but let me dispel this silly notion of it being “just a chest” exercise for the nonce.
Picture yourself doing a regular pushup. Your legs are ramrod straight, back straight, shoulders locked (yes, despite what the so called “experts” tell you, that is how it should be).
Now picture yourself clenching your thighs as you do the pushup, willing yourself to maintain that letter perfect form throughout, toes digging into the floor, legs clenched, ab TAUT and TIGHT – – all as you go up and down – – and thats just the basic pushup. When you add more variants and range of movement into it …well – watch out!
Doesnt sound like “just a chest” exercise, does it now??
Not to me, my friend.
As for losing weight – specifically around the midsection, pushups are probably one of the BEST exercises for the abs, if simply because of the amount of ab and lower work required to HOLD the body in position.

Don’t believe me?
Well, get down into the “table” position as shown beneath – and just hold for a while. Just hold, and do nothing else, and tell me how long you manage to hold that position.
Holding the “table” position for time is NO easy task …
For the fitness maniacs amongst you, it probably wont be more than 15-20 seconds if you’re doing this the first time.
For you gym goes, pumpers and toners – muscleheads – and so forth – you’d be doing to hold this pose for more than a few seconds before collapsing into a heap.
And for those of you that are seriously overweight – – well – you’ll be doing good to GET into the position for any length of time, my friend, and as for holding? Your limbs will start to shake like a maple leaf in the “Toronto breeze”, hehe – – and believe me, you’ll be doing yourself a world of good – – MORE good in those few nanoseconds than you would in years of pumping and toning on the machines.
Now, even though the above should answer all your questions as to why you should be doing pushups as the best “all in one” OVERALL body exercise, some people will naturally want it all “spelt out”.
You’ve asked me a lot of why’s Rahul, but why not just give me the facts right now??
Very well, my friend. Very well.
Because if you had to choose but ONE exercise, pushups would be it.
The main goals of any training program are as follows (either all, or one of the following) –
Supreme health and fitness from the inside out – as well as INNER vitality
Core strength, and that ripped midsection everyone wants – along with the associated HEALTH benefits.
A clear mind and an ability to focus like a horse with blinders on even the most DAUNTING of goals out there. Either fitness wise or life wise.
WEIGHT LOSS – that bug bear we’re ALL concerned about, hehe, and getting rid of the lard lumps.
Building layer upon layer of FUNCTIONAL muscle (as opposed to the bloat you get at the gym).
Increase stamina and a sense of calm and well being throughout the day.
And those, my friend are just off the top of my head. Those are the major workout goals for most people, and the pushup will address all these concerns in a royal manner – and then some!
Not to mention getting in a workout in the minimum amount of time – – with a minimum of space available. All you need is a floor and a wall – – and you’re set!

Tell a guy he can get a complete workout by doing nothing other than pushups alone – and he’ll likely look at you as if you’ve gone off your rocker.
This course should do MUCH, if not ALL to prevent this sort of silly notion from spreading any further than it has. Damage control I know, but an ocean is made up of DROPS, my friend, and enough damage control will ensure that people in general will (finally) start to get back into the sort of shape they were meant to be – as opposed to fat, lazy, slovenly creatures stuffing all sorts of junk down their gullet all day long.
Pushups, my friend will turn you into the REAL MAN – or woman you were meant to be. You’ll not only look and feel a lot better when adopting this exercise as the mainstay of your routine – but you’ll also have a laser sharp MIND capable of accomplishing just about anything you put your mind to – be that in terms of LIFE – or workout.

You may never get to that level of pushup, of course, but why not 400 on both hands at a stretch – or 250?
Or 500, for that matter?
Think of the sort of shape YOU would be in if you pumped out 500 pushups a workout even 3 days a week, my friend – both in terms of cardio and STRENGTH!
Additionally, and in conjunction with the misconceptions out there, most people don’t have a clue as to how to do pushups correctly – especially not 51 different ways, and this course will show you how to do ’em – – in detail, and with PICTURES included. Remember, a picture is indeed worth a thousand words!
And now, a bit of a trip down “memory lane” as it were.
My own story
Back in the day when I was a young lad, I was desperately looking for any and all measures to increase my upper body strength and overall levels of stamina.
I was given all sorts of “ways” to accomplish this goal (remember, this was before the Internet, and remember too I’m from a family where exercise isn’t quite “the norm”, if I might say so, hehe).
Some were OK in a certain sense, but didn’t really work. Such as when I was told to “run for 15 minutes a day”, which didn’t make much sense to me in the sense I was told back then – and which doesn’t make sense to me NOW either.
Some were downright ridiculous. I once remember being told to “lift 5kg dumbbells in each hand” for extended periods of time – and supposedly that would build increased levels of strength and muscle.
I did that for a coupla weeks, and nothing happened, of course. HA!
Not ONCE was I told about pushups – pull-ups and the like. Despite there being a pull-up bar installed at home, I as a child wasn’t ever instructed on how to use it – – and it served more as a clothes hanger than the actual workout tool it is, hehe.
The real wake up call for me came when I was in P.E. class at the age of 17, and some of the girls (yes) threw the shot put father than me in a competition.
Oh come on Rahul, I still remember the taunts. Even these girls are throwing the ball further than you are!
And that, along with another incident that occurred in terms of my right wrist (an injury, and I’ve spoken about that in the past too) really got me going on my quest for information on REAL physical training.
In college I swam a lot, which did a lot for my upper body – but as I started to research how sportsperson trained (and by extension martial arts professionals, the military and so forth) – the REAL key started to appear.
There was one common denominator everywhere – PUSHUPS!
And so I started doing pushups – not all the variants I know and teach today, of course. I just did about three variants or so (and a half ass variant of the handstand pushup), but I started doing them regularly, and the results were nothing short of astounding – and these results just got amplified years later when I discovered the power of the handstand pushup.
But amidst all this positivity, there was ONE thing missing – that being how to get an entire body workout with just the pushup alone.
And after a lot of “hand wringing” – time spent “in the trenches” – and trial and error – I found the answer, my friend, and how.
The answer of course being pushups – done in all their variants, shapes and forms if I might say so, and pushups, my friend were 95% of the reason I got down to 60 kgs from my formerly (some say big, but I say corpulent, hehe) 120 or thereabouts kilos.
And the results were so stunning that I shared them with the world in my training sessions, blog posts and emails – and people started raving about the effects pushups had on their overall health and fitness levels as well.
And they will be for you, my friend. So it will be for YOU – once you start cracking on these pushups, and try out some of the sample workouts given!

Recently I sent out an email to my list about doing pushups – specifically, a quick and dirty workout that I did that got the blood pumping, and the heart pounding in about 5-6 minutes flat.
That was a 65 pushup workout – 50 pushups originally intended, but I cranked out 15 more.
And this generated a lot of interest from my followers on social media, a lot of whom flat out answered “NO” to the question I posed – despite being …
... experienced gym goers
…. in some cases, experienced martial artists and/or fighters, wrestlers in high school, etc etc.
… pounding the pavement regularly
… being skinny as heck (that one came as a real mind bender to me, but upon second thought, it wasn’t surprising at all)
And so forth.
The pushup, my friend is indeed ONE of the and the most BASIC litmus test of fitness, and most men MISERABLY FAIL at it.
And yet, we all want to get up to the hallowed numbers at this great exercise. The 500 pushup workouts. The quick and dirty 100 pushups that will set you up for the day. The 50 pushups in the morning and ditto at night that will take care of all “flabby midsection and upper arms” issues.
And thus forth …
And while I did my best to answer the Q & A posed by the guys, and did up an email or two on it, the BEST answer by far would be to go straight to the course – that being this book on pushups right HERE.

500 Pushups a DAY!
Just reading about it makes you tired, doesn’t it?
500 pushups a day, and in general, the number 500 when it comes to exercise.
The stuff LEGENDS are made of, is what comes to mind. Or U.S. Marines, and elite forces around the world.
Or wrestlers. Or boxers, of course — or old time STRONGMEN!
Or … perhaps tri-athletes, but 500, without fail, daily? Every day … for an entire YEAR?
This, my friend was actually a goal I set a couple of years ago, and believe it or not, yours truly got half way there … and this was WITH a full schedule of work and other exercises lumped in during the day as well.
Anyway, I didnt start off with that goal.
I started off with what is currently an impossibility even in terms of thought for most people — that being 500/day — or per workout — or a combo therein.
The below details my experience doing 500 pushups a day – a level you can very easily get up to if you follow the instructions laid out here in my course.
For those not interested, feel free to skip this section. Lots aren’t, eh?
Yeah. Crickets. I thought so!
We ALL want to get to that level, and here goes with the experience: –
I collapsed in a puddle of my own sweat this morning while exercising.
Was breathing heavily, sort of like an old locomotive puffing it’s way up a steep hill. And this happened multiple times during my workout — each time, I felt I couldn’t go ANY further — but go further I did — until I completed my routine. I’m sitting here writing to you after I’ve finished — and I’m STILL sweating. My arms feel a bit numb, as does my chest — but they’re going to be talking to me later for sure. HA!
And that, my friend, is what is liable to happen to YOU as well when you bang out 500 pushups in a single workout — which is what I did today.
Remember that 500 pushups per day is not something I currently do — so it was something different.
It was also a real challenge — and making it past 300 odd didn’t seem like it would be possible at one point — but I puffed, panted and somehow pushed my way to the magic 500.
In fact, I was sweating so heavily that the carpet on the living room (where I work out) was damp as well — I kid you not on that one.
And remember that winter’s not gone as yet from these parts; I’m wearing a thick vest and a T-shirt on top of that — both of those should be enough to absorb the sweat, but evidently not — I was literally dripping sweat all over the place. And even if you leave the strength benefits aside for a minute — talk about a GREAT cardio workout — WOW!

- Mental strength that CANNOT be beat. Believe me, once you start doing 100 plus – or 250 – or even the hallowed 500 – pushup number per workout – you’ll develop an unshakeable sense of mental strength which will allow you not just to achieve nigh any goal you set yourself – but also to overcome adversity – sometimes of the most harrowing kinds (and believe me, I’ve been there on this one!
